Fasting Lipid Results

We perform regular lipid monitoring tests for many of our patients and as such they are classed as screening tests which do not have clinical priority.

There is a complicated process for interpreting these results. Our CHD (Coronary Heart Disease) nurse takes a great deal of time to ensure that the results are processed correctly. It is then necessary for a member of staff to transfer all the information onto the patient computer records.

Consequently, we anticipate that results would not be available to patients until at least 2 weeks following the blood test.

PLEASE DO NOT RING FOR YOUR RESULTS BEFORE THIS TIME.

If the CHD nurse identifies any action following the blood test – we will try to get in touch by phone or letter.

It is sometimes possible for our CHD nurse to conduct phone consultations to offer advice but this is only possible if we have an up to date daytime contact telephone number. Please help us to help you by letting us have this information – forms available in reception.
